Queensland Homes

From the initial design briefing, the concept for this home was to raise the house and relocate the kitchen and primary living areas to the new ground level.  Providing connections to the existing swimming pool and proposed basketball area.  The kitchen and study were to be the heroes of the project with cabinetry all documented by Andrew Gildea Architects in collaboration with Highgate House.

Renovations by previous owners gave the house some awkward roof forms on the back façade.  However, a beautiful new pergola introduced a human scale element to draw the focus back into generous transitional outdoor spaces.

Within the master bedroom, a new bay window was incorporated to enhance the light and extend the space beautifully.

The previous carport was demolished and a generous garage and workshop area was created under the house, restoring a nicer daily entry transition for our clients.

Working collaboratively with interior stylists from the beginning allowed for seamless documentation, tendering and completion of this timeless design.
